As many of us have started the process of upgrading our computers to Microsoft’s latest and greatest operating system ‘Windows 10″. We have encountered some bugs with the upgrade that may leave you staring at a black screen. This can happen either during the original upgrade process or during the latest batch of updates after the upgrade process has completed.

On some computers equipped with SSD’s we have seen the updates install without issues however on computers equipped with standard mechanical hard drives the update process can take a LOT longer to complete.

So far we have found that if you are very patient and let the upgrade complete before turning off or restarting your computer it will most likely finish successfully. If you are not patient with the update process and you turn off or restart your computer during the process you may find that your computer will no longer be able to boot or may be stuck on a black screen.

If you are receiving error codes during your upgrade process such as:

“0x80073712”

“0x800F0923”

“0x80200056”

“0x800F0922”

“Error: We couldn’t complete the updates. Undoing changes. Don’t turn off your computer.”

“Error: Failure configuring Windows Updates. Reverting changes.”

“Error: The update isn’t applicable to your computer.”
